I'm entering the second year of my PhD program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This year is focused on prepping for comprehensive field exams and sadly leaves little time for new research.

In the meantime, please take a look at some of my previous work:

My Master's thesis, "'Civilized Tinklings': Gentility, Ritual, and Social Distinctions in the Southern Tea Ritual"

A digital curation project (in progress), THE BLACK DRINK: A Decolonized Native American Tea History

Modern Austen. A collection of modernized historical recipes from Jane Austen's life and texts. These posts and recipes draw on some of my earliest academic research on Austen's literature and gastronomic gentility.

Check back soon for posts on new food research.
